Hi Reader,
This summer, my world cracked open. Within just a few hours, I lost both my dad and my grandmother. One sudden, one expected — together, a kind of grief I’d never known. My world stood still.
In those first days, I let go of projects, plans, and expectations. I found myself seeking stillness instead of striving. I noticed the small things that helped me breathe: the kindness of friends, the warmth of a sauna, even the comfort of an old TV show. It felt like nature was whispering: pause, let the ground hold you, trust that the well will refill.
I’ve decided to write my way through this season in a new space I’m calling Horses & the Human Spirit. It’s where I’ll share essays and field notes inspired by horses, nature, and the cycles of life — exploring grief, resilience, belonging, and what it means to live aligned.
The first post, When Leaves Fall Apart, tells the story of that day and the unexpected lessons it’s opening up for me. This experience is still very raw, but I know voicing my way through the cloud will help others find their way.
Whether you are grieving personal loss right now — a loved one, a job, a future you thought was yours — or facing collective loss in our climate, politics, or sense of certainty, I want you to know you don’t need to process this weight alone. There is a herd waiting for you.
I hope my story brings you hope, and together we can find resilience:

My wish is that these essays create space that feels like a pause in your inbox — a place to breathe, remember your values, and reconnect with what truly matters.
For now, my in-person workshops and events are on pause. I’m carrying a lot, and I don’t have the space to pour my heart into them the way I’d like. But I trust that, with time, my creative well will refill — and that writing will be the path that helps me find inspiration again. I’ve learned you can surrender to circumstance without giving up.
Just like fall, all seasons of life have endings and eventual rebirths. I am eternally grateful to everyone who has helped me begin the path forward once again.
Grief is a universal experience, but too often it is one paved in solitude. Let’s welcome community into the process of healing.
With gratitude,
